Skills and Requirements:
  • Medical Assistant.
  • Attention to detail is a MUST!
  • Previous experience in dermatology
  • Display competence with dermatology terminology and dermatology practice protocols, including sterilization, managing and caring for equipment, assisting in surgeries, and proper documentation using electronic medical records.
  • Comfortable working with an iPad.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Work schedule:
  • Business hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:30 pm (exact schedule will vary based on office needs). Occasional overtime depending on the needs of the practice. This can be full-time or part-time for the right candidate. Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Friday.

Description of role:
  • We are searching for a friendly, motivated, hardworking, and reliable Medical Assistant. Our Medical Assistant will work directly with practice staff to maintain records, explain common dermatology procedures to patients, and assist with dermatological procedures. 

Tasks:
  • Greeting patients, rooming patients, and making sure all necessary consents have been completed.
  • Assisting in front office patient care, including making appointments and collecting proper payments, and paperwork.
  • Turning rooms over, and setting up rooms, and trays for various procedures.
  • Stocking and ordering products and supplies.
  • Performing various administrative tasks as needed.
  • Being able to properly handle patient questions, and relay messages to the doctor(s) as needed.
  • Maintaining biopsy logs and assuring proper follow-up for any positive biopsy results requiring further medical care.
  • Keeping up with CLIA and OSHA regulations to meet compliance requirements.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of a hygienic office in all common areas.
  • Display competence with dermatology terminology and dermatology practice protocols, including sterilization, managing and caring for equipment, assisting in surgeries, and proper documentation using electronic medical records.
  • Perform medical tasks such as drawing blood, giving injections, removing sutures, bandaging wounds, and sterilizing equipment.
  • Manage back-office duties such as taking patient histories, assisting the doctor during procedures, preparing exam rooms, and stocking and ordering and managing inventory of medical supplies.
  • Be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
  • Ability to learn electronic medical record systems and document patient notes and services according to office policies.
  • Present, promote, and educate patients about products and services offered at our practice.
  • Training other staff members to reach full competency in their official position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
